About
Over the past 15 years, Christabel has worked in digital marketing, gaining insights into the impact of technology on our lives. She has worked with small and multinational companies and has received recognition in BC Business.
This career path took a transformative turn when she studied new persuasive marketing developments. As she learned about how digital experiences can be designed to distort reasoning, manipulate emotions, and encourage impulsive behaviours, Christabel questioned the ethics behind the tactics.
Driven by a deep concern for the effects of persuasive technology, she became a certified high school teacher and dedicated her efforts to fostering critical thinking in the digital age. In collaboration with the Vancouver School District, she helped develop resources for their Career Education curriculum, including essential lessons on digital media literacy.
AMP Digital Safety aims to equip communities with adaptable skills for navigating and thriving in today’s rapidly evolving digital world.
